Hawaiian Refuge for a lame Turnstone and a Turtle
Often it is a seemingly small but moving travel experience
that stands out in my memory after I'm home. In Hawaii's City of Refuge
National Historic Park it was a one-legged shorebird. In Kaloko-Honokohau NHP
it was a turtle and a surf netter.
This Ruddy Turnstone has only one leg with a few nubs for toes but gets on quite well
