Pre-Christmas Venice for Five Days
My wife, Tricia-Rose, and I decided to avoid the post-election blues by escaping the U.S. and spending five days in Venice before boarding the NCL Spirit for an 11-day Mediterranean cruise. Venice was cold and foggy but festively decked out for the holidays and without the sultry summer crowds and lagoon smells. Hotels were amazingly cheap off-season and the notorious venue lines were short. And the dollar was nearly at par with the Euro.
