Tricia-Rose and I ended our 24-day Mediterranean adventure with two hours at the Salvador Dali Museum in Figueres, Spain. Dali was baptized in the church right next to Figueres' Theater where Dali had his first art show. Franco bombed the theater and Dali later acquired it for his Theater-Museum dedicated to himself. Dali was an exceptional artist-showman with great technical skill and a no-holds-barred approach to creativity. Dali clearly loved his wife and muse-model Gala and I think she and his art kept him from going off the deep end. I've never been a great fan of Dali's work but I decided to suspend my judgment and simply immerse myself in his fun-loving creativity.
Enjoy this sampling of Dali's wild world!
